What decor do you need for a mehndi?
A mehndi is usually an afternoon or early-evening gathering where guests sit close around the bride while her henna is applied. Rentals that suit it: fringe umbrellas ($40 each) and paper parasols over the seating, seat cushions and flower pillows, a backdrop for photos, and low tables dressed with runners and candle holders.
The bride's seat is the focal point, so most families build the setup around it: a backdrop behind her, umbrellas or parasols overhead and cushions around the base for the people sitting with her. The same pieces work for a maiyan or haldi, where the setup is smaller and photos matter as much as the decor.
How do you decorate for a sangeet or jaggo night?
Sangeet and jaggo nights are about light and room to dance. Gold LED table lamps ($10 each) and cordless lamps, amber tealight holders and glass candle shades warm the tables, a lit three-panel backdrop frames the performances and photos, and plinths raise florals or a welcome sign at the entrance.
These nights often run in a hall, a backyard or a tent at home, and the light matters more than anything once the sun goes down. Cordless lamps work where there are no outlets near the tables, and candle shades keep flames steady outdoors.
What do you rent for a Diwali party?
For a Diwali party, candlelight carries the room: amber tealight holders ($1.50 each), clear and green glass pillar holders, taper candle holders, gold LED lamps, velvet runners in brown or sage, and a backdrop or display wall for family photos. Diwali 2026 falls on November 8.
Many families host Diwali for a wider circle than fits at home, so halls and community rooms book up in the weeks around it. Renting the candle holders and table decor means a long table for 40 looks set without buying and storing decor for one night a year.
How do you dress the room around the stage?
Backdrops, plinths, umbrellas and lamps dress the rest of the room around a stage or mandap: the entrance, the photo area, the guest tables and the gift table.
