Renting Props for Film, TV and Shoots

What we carry, how holds work, where to pick up, and how payment and damage are handled.

What props can you rent for a film or TV set?

Set dressing for weddings, parties, restaurants and interiors: a gold arch floor length mirror ($65), white display plinths and a classical pillar, a white podium, gold and cordless LED table lamps, taper and pillar candle holders, fringe umbrellas, paper parasols, clear umbrellas, lanterns, easels, sign stands, card boxes, linens and tabletop pieces.

Wedding, reception and party scenes are some of the most common set dressing jobs, and they are exactly what our collection is built for: a head table, a ceremony aisle, a welcome sign, a dessert table, a garden party under umbrellas. The same pieces dress interiors and commercial sets too. A gold mirror, a pair of plinths and a few lamps change a plain room quickly, and every item is photographed on the site so the set decoration team can pull from the catalog before anyone drives out.

How long can a production hold props?

Our standard rental covers three calendar days, which suits most photo shoots and commercials. For series and features, send your prep, shoot and wrap dates and we quote the full hold, with each day beyond the standard window added at a daily rate. Holds are confirmed once the 50% deposit is paid.

Productions rarely run on event timing, so we quote to the schedule rather than forcing a weekend window. Tell us when the pieces need to go out, which days they are on camera and when wrap is planned, and the quote reflects that hold. If the schedule moves, let us know as early as possible so we can check availability against other bookings.

Where are you, and can we see pieces before we rent?

Pieces are stored at our Fort Langley property (21871 100 Avenue), a short drive from Highway 1, with pickup and return daily from 10am to 4pm. Set decorators can walk through specific pieces by appointment, and delivery across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley is quoted per job.

Fort Langley sits between Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley, so it is an easy pickup for productions working in Langley, Surrey, Maple Ridge, Abbotsford and the city. If you want to see pieces before you commit, book a time and we will have them out for you. We also rent from a Kelowna location for productions shooting in the Okanagan.

How do payment and damage work for productions?

We take credit card or Interac e-Transfer, with a 50% deposit to hold pieces and a credit card on file for the rental period. A 10% cleaning fee applies to every order. Missing or damaged pieces, including paint, adhesive residue or other alterations, are charged at replacement cost.

Set dressing often means tape, fixings and heavy handling, so it is worth planning around. If the scene calls for a piece to be altered, aged or rigged, tell us before the pull so we can suggest a piece that suits. Everything else comes back the way it went out, and we handle the cleaning.

Common Questions

Prop Rental FAQ

Common questions from set decorators, art departments and photographers

Yes. Stills, commercials, music videos and brand shoots rent from the same catalog. Most shoots fit inside our standard three-day rental, and longer holds are quoted to your schedule.

Yes. There is no minimum order. Rent one mirror for an insert shot or a full reception setup for a wedding scene, and every piece is priced on its own in the collection.

Email hello@okanaganwed.com or use the quote form with the production name, the pieces and quantities, and your prep, shoot and wrap dates. You can also add pieces to a quote on the site and submit it. We reply with availability and an itemized quote within 24 hours.

Pieces need to come back in the condition they went out. Paint, adhesive residue, cuts and other alterations are charged at replacement cost, so talk to us before the pull if the scene needs changes.

Yes. We deliver across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley from Fort Langley, and delivery is quoted for each job based on the location, the pieces and the timing. Pickup from Fort Langley is also available daily from 10am to 4pm.

Often, yes, when the pieces are available. Orders picked up within three days of booking include a rush fee, so the earlier we see the pull list, the better.
